Ana Kvinikadze_2018

Abstract

Abstract taken from the full text of the paper (PDF, page 4).

Outstanding playwright Sarah Kane appeared as a new voice in British Drama in the 1990s, having a significant impact on modern theatre development not only in Britain but also throughout the world. My Master’s thesis is about Sarah Kane’s works and contemporary British women’s dramaturgy, about which nothing much is written in Georgia, not to count several performance reviews, that was staged in Georgian theatre according to Kane’s plays. In the present work is briefly discussed the female playwright’s place and fate in the theatre history, how many obstacles they overcome for the rights they have today, in the 21st century, as well as the 90-ies British Theatre and the processes, which took place at that time in British Theatre and Drama.

Mainly my thesis refers to Sara Kane’s works /and its importance in the world theatre context/ and life that somehow determine her fate.
