Guram Kokaia_2016Abstract
Abstract taken from the PDF of the thesis (page 5); source: Ilia State University repository.Get educated is long process. It starts from kindergarten and does not finish. Higher education is one peace in educational chain. General education must prepare its graduates for the new step of education. Buckswood International School – Tbilisi, implements PreBaccalaureate Program for the 11th and 12th grade students. The program helps students to select their occupation. The program develops cognitive and social skills to students. These skills will support students’ academic success at higher education institutions. The 12th grade students filled out Students’ Experience Questionnaire developed by Hawaii University – West Oahu. It was self-assessment.
Students assessed their abilities. The survey results showed that students can participate in group work, make presentations, search information, process and use it. Students have selected their occupation and higher education institution where they want to proceed their learning. PreBaccalaureate Program graduates need more preparation in written communication and in development of their academic writing skills. Also graduates need more information about different world views and civilizations.
