Abstract taken from the full text of the paper (PDF, page 84).Our Master's thesis is based on contemporary scientific literature on cinema and culture topics. In order to study the Georgian space, we conducted research on semiotic parallels and semantic analysis based on Georgian and Italian films. The goal of the Master's Thesis is to analyze the Georgian cultural space and to form practical recommendations during the modern informational age and visual culture dominancy. In order to achieve this goal, first of all, it is necessary to understand the role of cinema in culture and to realize the semiotic aspect of the culture itself. According to it’s potential as soon as the cinema was created, it was always closely linked to the formation of the political system and the control of public consciousness.
The reason is the ability of the cinema to develop, spread and conserve information within itself. In the modern global space, it is of utmost importance to our country to preserve national identity, authenticity, to realize cultural changes, to form state social structures and system and also the image that presents Georgia to the world. All these points are unified under one major (self)reflection process. These processes and outcomes are very important for developing strategic directions of Georgia in the modern global space that requires innovation and changes. In the context of Georgian culture, an intensive process of self-reflection is necessarily needed, that can be based on the research of Georgian cinema, as a unique and complex form of expression.
Because of expressive techniques of the cinema, it can provide information, in accordance with national and historical memory, also for storing the information on cultural heritage self-reflection and reflection can form the political strategy of the country.
